This book offers students, residents, and practitioners a systematic approach to differential
diagnosis of symptoms and signs commonly seen by primary case physicians. The text is
organized into 3 sections: history, physical examination, and special examination techniques; differential diagnosis of symptoms and signs; and diseases that are symptoms of other diseases. Differential diagnoses are organized alphabetically by symptoms and signs as well as by categories including pain, mass, bloody discharge, non-bloody discharge, functional changes, and abnormal laboratory results. Each differential diagnosis includes an approach to diagnosis, other useful tests, and a case presentation whenever possible to highlight important points in the text.
